Housemaid jobs in Oman
Families in Oman post housemaid and housekeeping jobs here: cleaning, cooking, laundry, ironing and help with children. These jobs are for workers already living in Oman with a valid residence card; we don't arrange visas, and we don't list jobs abroad.
Workers never pay. Creating a profile and applying are free, and Oman's law bars anyone from taking money from a worker in return for a job. If anyone asks you for money for a job, don't pay.
Create a free profile so families can find you too. You must be 21 or over. Your new employer handles the Ministry of Labour steps for moving your work licence, and you can't start until they are approved.

Do I have to pay to get a housemaid job in Oman?
No. Oman's Labour Law (Article 31) says nobody may take money from a worker in return for a job, and MD 574/2025 (Article 7) says an employer may not take money from you to employ you or move you to a new employer. You never pay to use OmanHousemaids either.
Can I apply if I live outside Oman?
No. Jobs and profiles on OmanHousemaids are only for workers who already live in Oman with a valid residence card. We don't arrange visas, and we don't take part in recruitment from abroad.
How do I change employer as a housemaid in Oman?
Your new employer applies online through Ministry of Labour e-service 286. The request goes to your current employer to approve or reject. The new employer pays the OMR 5 fee, and the Royal Oman Police confirm the change. You can't start the new job until it is approved. Our guide to finding domestic work in Oman explains each step.
Can I work for another family on my rest day?
No. Your work licence is for one employer and one occupation. MD 574/2025 (Article 9) doesn't allow your employer to let you work for others, and doesn't allow another family to employ you. Wait until your licence has moved to the new family.
What is the minimum age for domestic work in Oman?
21. MD 574/2025 (Article 6) doesn't allow anyone under 21 to be employed as a domestic worker. OmanHousemaids profiles are only for workers aged 21 or over who already live in Oman.
