Caregiver jobs in Oman

Families in Oman post caregiver jobs here, looking after an older parent or an adult who needs support at home. These are household jobs with one family, not hospital or clinic posts, and they are for workers already living in Oman with a valid residence card; we don't arrange visas.

Workers never pay. Creating a profile and applying are free. If anyone asks you for money in return for a job, don't pay.

Create a free profile listing your care experience, languages and skills such as first aid. You must be 21 or over. A caregiver is not a nurse, so describe the care you have given honestly and don't offer medical treatment.

Common questions

Are these caregiver jobs in hospitals?

No. Jobs here are posted by families who want help at home for an older relative or an adult who needs support. They are household jobs covered by Oman's domestic-worker regulation, MD 574/2025, which lists home health assistant as its own occupation.

Do I have to pay to get a caregiver job in Oman?

No. Oman's Labour Law (Article 31) says nobody may take money from a worker in return for a job, and MD 574/2025 (Article 7) says an employer may not take money from you to employ you or move you to a new employer. You never pay to use OmanHousemaids either.

Can I apply from outside Oman?

No. Jobs and profiles on OmanHousemaids are only for workers who already live in Oman with a valid residence card. We don't arrange visas, and we don't take part in recruitment from abroad.

What rights does a caregiver working for a family have?

At least one paid rest day a week, at least 21 days' paid annual leave, up to 30 days' paid sick leave with a medical certificate, and health insurance paid by your employer (MD 574/2025). Your employer may not keep your passport without your written agreement. See your rights as a domestic worker.

Who can I call for help?

In an emergency, call the Royal Oman Police on 9999. For problems with pay, hours or your contract, call the Ministry of Labour on 80077000. Your embassy in Muscat can also help.
