Helpers across Oman
How it works
1. Browse real profiles
Helpers who already live in Oman list their experience, languages, skills and availability. Profiles are sorted by who was most recently active.
2. Contact them directly
Get in touch with the helpers you like and arrange interviews yourselves. We never sit in the middle: no placement fee on either side, and helpers never pay.
3. Hire the official way
You and the helper agree duties, hours and pay, and your household completes the Ministry of Labour steps. Our guides explain how it works in Oman.
What to expect from OmanHousemaids
You stay in control
You choose who to contact and agree duties, hours and pay directly with the helper. We don't rank people or take part in the hiring.
No office fees
There's no placement fee on either side. The only official charges are the government's own fees, which your household pays to the ministry.
Workers never pay
Helpers never pay to list or to be contacted. Oman's Labour Law bars anyone from taking money from a worker in return for a job.
Every number checked
Every helper's mobile number is checked to be a real Omani mobile before their profile can go live. We don't check identity, documents or references, so make your own checks at interview.
Frequently asked questions
Are you a recruitment office?
No. OmanHousemaids is a listing site: helpers who already live in Oman create their own profiles, and families contact them directly. We are not a recruitment office, we don't take part in any hiring, we don't handle permits or contracts, and we don't arrange visas.
Is OmanHousemaids free to use?
Browsing profiles, posting a job and reading responses are free, and helpers always list free. To see a helper's contact details, a family pays a one-time unlock, from US$29 for a month at our launch rate — no subscription. See the pricing page.
Do helpers pay anything?
No, never. Creating a profile and hearing from families are free for helpers. Oman's Labour Law (Article 31) says nobody may take money from a worker in return for a job, and MD 574/2025 (Article 7) says an employer may not take money from a worker to employ them. If anyone asks you for money for a job, don't pay.
Can I hire someone from abroad through this site?
No. Profiles are only for helpers who already live in Oman with a valid residence card, and we don't arrange visas. Families who bring a worker from abroad do it through the Ministry of Labour and Royal Oman Police steps themselves; our hiring guide explains the official route.
How much is a housemaid paid in Oman?
There's no single legal figure. Oman sets no minimum wage for expatriate domestic workers, so the wage is what you and the helper agree in the registered contract. Some home countries set a minimum before their embassy approves a contract. You also provide food, suitable accommodation and health insurance. See our salary guide.
What are the new rules for housemaids in Oman?
MD 574/2025, in force since 13 October 2025, covers housemaids, nannies, private drivers and nine other household occupations. It requires a registered written contract and workers aged 21 or over, and gives a paid weekly rest day, up to 30 days' paid sick leave, at least 21 days' annual leave, health insurance and, after two years, an end-of-service gratuity. Our guide to MD 574/2025 has the detail.
