Housemaids and home help in Sohar
Browse housemaids, nannies, carers and private drivers who live in Sohar, in Al Batinah North governorate, and are looking for full-time work with a family. Each profile is written by the helper and lists experience, languages, skills and availability.
Choosing someone who already lives in Sohar keeps things simple: there is no travel wait, the helper's work licence moves to you through the Ministry of Labour's change-of-employer service, and if the helper lives outside your home you provide free transport to and from work (MD 574/2025, Article 15).
The Sohar list is still growing. If it's short, post a free job so helpers elsewhere in Oman can see it and respond.
OmanHousemaids is a listing site, not a recruitment office. You contact helpers directly and agree terms between yourselves, and helpers never pay.

Common questions
Can I find a housemaid in Sohar?
Yes. Helpers who live in Sohar are listed on this page, sorted by who was most recently active. If the list is short, post a free job or browse helpers across Oman. A helper living elsewhere in Oman can take a live-in role with your family once their work licence has moved to you.
Do I need a recruitment office to hire a helper in Sohar?
No. The household holds the Ministry of Labour licence (MD 574/2025, Article 8), and no rule requires a recruitment office. The same official process applies in Sohar as anywhere else in Oman; our hiring guide sets it out.
What does the Ministry of Labour charge?
OMR 101 per worker for a household work permit (one to three workers), and OMR 5 when a worker already in Oman moves to a new employer, paid by the new employer (MD 602/2025). Helpers never pay any of it.
